Will developers be the next battleground in smartphones?

Alfresco gets serious about the cloud

Windows and Red Hat pricing on Amazon EC2 vs. on-premise

Apple bans developer for posting bogus reviews

Yesterday Apple took the extreme step of banning a developer, Molinker, for posting bogus reviews on iTunes.

No doubt, there’s some number of bogus reviews on any product review site, whether iTunes, Amazon, or elsewhere. But in this case, the developer had posted dozens if not hundreds of bogus reviews across their product portfolio.

Open source helps Western Digital prioritize product features

OpenLogic attacks Red Hat with lower-cost alternative

Earlier this week OpenLogic announced commercial support for CentOS, a Linux distribution derived from Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). The CentOS distribution is ostensibly RHEL source code with Red Hat’s branding and artwork removed.
